Excellent service and value for money. The bike was extremely comfortable and well equipped. Will definitely be using again.
Super company. Very friendly staff and good comfortable bikes for all.
We hired 2 bikes from Jason in July and used them to cycle on the new Sustrans Bike Path parallel to the A84 and also the older route on the little road just west of the river and later in the other directions towards Callender (a bit more hard work!)
The bikes worked fine, but it was also good to know that if we'd had any problems with the bikes Jason would have come and sorted it out - and before we set out he also helped us out with a problem with one of the bikes that we'd brought with us. Really lovely places to cycle and good service from Strathyre Bikes!
Hired 4 bikes today from Jason and his family. Great bikes and great service. We had a fantastic ride to Callander and back following the loch. Would highly recommend it.
Just a wee note to say a massive thank you for the support on Saturday – we arrived at Mhor84 (Jason had all our bikes ready) to do the loop down to Callander – over the hills to Comrie and back to Lochearnhead and finally up to Mhor 84 – a full days cycling with a little trekking with the bikes as the passage over the hills between Callander and Comrie is not all pathways.
We left just after 9am joining National Cycle Route 7 which passes in front of Mhor84 and stopped in Callander for a bacon roll and coffee then set up the climb which is on the road that takes you past Callander Golf Club – up the hill for almost and hour to the reservoir then cross that and head straight up the hill past the old bothy and continue straight on until you hit the road in about 4 miles – continue on the road for just over a mile and at Dalchruin Farm take a left and cross the river and head right along to Comrie – there is one area that is boggy so wet feet to be expected.
We hit Comrie just after 2pm so the Royal stopped serving food so picked up lunch at Hansens Deli. Headed along to St Fillans by taking a left over the Ross bridge at the end of Comrie and turn immediately right and followed the River Earn – there is a path at the end of that road on your left just before the main road that keeps you off road up to St Fillans and round the south side of the Loch Earn. You meet the main road that takes you up to Mhor84 with the option of using the cycle path or staying on the main road as a pint is awaiting you in 3 miles.
It was a spectacular day and Jason said he was always on standby in case we needed any support – luckily we didn’t but always good to know that you can call someone with local knowledge in case. Jason met us back at the hotel and picked the bikes up – from our side it was hassle free and exactly the service we were looking for.
We will use Jason again and will be back next year to do the loop.
Amazing wee place. Really friendly and helpful. Totally saved me by fixing my bike chain and went above and beyond by kindly giving me a free emergency chain link for next time it happens, which I'll never set out on a cycle without again. Also completely cleaned the gear system. Really friendly guy, great building and exciting new trails to come in the future.
Going down towards Callander on Sunday, my rear tyre blew out (with an incredible bang). The local shop sent me up to see Jason who produced a second hand tyre, a new tube, fitted them and lubricated my gears - all at a price that, even as an Aberdonian, I couldn't argue with. Thanks Jason, you saved the day.
